Term 4 Week 2

 Welcome back to term 4!

It has been a great week of athletics practise and just enjoying being back together again.


This is a busy term with lots of fun things happening weekly, so please keep checking your school alerts and the blog to know what is happening.

We do have our production this term and we are just getting the last of our ideas together before we share this with the kids and then we will be into practises.

Please remember to SUNHAT and SUNBLOCK each day for your child. We will remind children to put sunblock on at school, but we will not apply this, so if your child doesn't know how to put this on themselves, please support them with learning this.

We are going to be doing work across teams with both Whakarewa and Hōpara this term as part of our transition for next year. This learning will include coding, PE and CHILL.

  • Working Bee this Sunday - 'MORE HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK', details in the newsletter
  • Athletics Wednesday starting just after 9am, if raining postponement day is Thursday. You're welcome to come and watch!

End of Term 3

 We wish you all a very safe and happy holiday. We hope you enjoy the sun and some fun family time.

The first day of school next term is Tuesday 13 October, Monday is a teacher only day.

What is happening on the first week back:

  • Athletics practise begins this week, please make sure you have correct footwear, sunhat, sun block on each day and a drink bottle
  • Wednesday - PTA's Spring Fashion Show 6pm-7pm
  • Now we are into Term 4 a wide brimmed SUNHAT is required at school everyday. Please also make sure you child comes to school with sunblock on each morning and some in their bag so they can reapply this throughout the day.

Last week of Term!

 


I'm sure you're all in need of a holiday, this term has thrown us some curve balls. 

Here's some things that we've been up to this week:

What's on next week?

As a celebration of finishing reading the BFG, we would like to watch the new release movie as a team next week. Please email us if you have any concerns regarding this.

Tuesday: Top team. This is a Canterbury Sport run whole school event. Come to school dressed in your buddy/house colour!

Wednesday: Tennis coaching. If you have your own racket, feel free to bring it along

Thursday: Ski day (Providing we're in Level 1) - be at school no later than 6am! 

Friday: PTA Sausage Sizzle. Please order via KINDO

Week 9




Please take the time to read this blog as we have a lot on over the next week:


So what is happening next week:

  • We have a truck education team coming to see the whole school throughout the day on Tuesday. Each team will have time to learn about truck safety.
  • Māori language week is all next week. We are having a full celebration day on Wednesday. Also we hope you all take part in the school wide competition. Your child has brought one of these sheets below home today.


  • Sushi Wednesday
  • Anika's basketball fun day Wednesday after school.
  • Chocolate Sales for year 8 camp after school Friday
  • Friday is the school disco. Depending on the countries Alert Level, we will either have this in the evening, as planned, or we will have a celebration day at school. We will keep you updated.
Paula is away next Wednesday and Thursday on a Wellbeing 2 day course. Whaea Sue Brown will be in the team with Molly.

We are still busy diving deeper into our Inquiry around waste and different peoples perspectives.
