Week 12

Welcome to Week 12 and last week of a long and interesting term.

Thank you to everyone that has joined us over this last week to celebrate your child's learning. For those of you booked in this week, we are looking forward to catching up with you.

What is happening this week:
  • Learning conferences Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday school finishes at 12:30pm and the bus will leave at 12:35pm.
  • Subway Wednesday, order through KINDO.
  • Wednesday is also Hayley's last day at Clarkville. We will be having a bright hair day on Wednesday.
  • Friday we are going to have a shared morning tea and movie, we have also said that the children can bring a soft toy on this day. Please bring something to share, but we would prefer this to be savoury not sweet.
  • Friday is the last day of term.
Bird week 27- 5 July. Please click on the link to explore the NZ bird survey website. Some children did this last year and found it very interesting.

We have had a busy week working hard on our new CHILL programme. We have been really impressed at how are students are adapting and how deep they are taking their learning. We are really excited to she this develop and grow next term.

We have also been making a video and farewell present for Hayley. Hayley has been such a big part of our family in Tūhura over the last 8 years. She will be sadly missed.

Week 11

Kia ora whānau,

Hopefully you're all looking after yourselves and others. We're already starting to bring Term 2 to a close with learning conferences starting next week. We're looking forward to seeing the children share their learning and having a good catch up with you all.

This week we planted some seeds, made some bags and planned for our learning conference.

What you need to know:

  • School finishes at 12:30pm on Monday, to kick off learning conferences
  • Please let Kathryn know if your child is absent by 9am. The quickest and easier way to do this is through the school app
On a sadder note, Hayley is leaving as at the end of the term. She has had some serious health issues over the last few years and she has now decided to spend more time with her family, she also has some new fun interests that she wants to follow up on.

Week 10

Welcome to week 10!

What you need to know:
  • We are busy getting ready for Learning Conferences so please make sure you have booked you time.
  • Just a remember of our uniform standards. The only necklaces to worn are ones of cultural significance, hair needs to be tied up if it sits on or below the shoulders, earrings can be worn but they need to be studs or sleepers only.
  • If you need to pick you child up early for an appointment, please can you flick us a quick email as it helps us plan our day, especially when we are doing assessment.
  • If you are looking at getting your child a device, please make sure you get the information about the deal Juliana and Linda have managed to get for our school.
Have a lovely weekend,
Molly, Paula & Hayley

Engage in Enviro
To celebrate Matariki, we will be having a whole school seed planting session before the end of term.

Currently, our garden beds need some TLC and are after some nutrients boosting eg. horse/sheep manure and also some pea straw. These materials will help our gardens to be healthy for spring planting.

Please let Molly know if you’re able to donate and deliver any of the above

Week 9

Wow, how did it become Week 9 already......!

What is happening next week:
  • Please make sure you book your learning conference.
  • Make sure your child has all the equipment they need for learning. This week we have noticed a lot of students have not had glue sticks and whiteboard markers.
  • Please make sure your child has a change of clothes if playing on the field
  • With the weather getting colder, feel free to send your child to school with slippers.
  • Please name all items that come to school eg. pencils, rubbers, drink bottles, clothing.
  • Mana Ake drop in, in the office, Monday 1.30 - 3pm.
We have been doing lots of interesting learning for our Inquiry this week. We have put together some scenarios and the students had to work in groups to decide what they would do in the situation. Have a chat with your child about their groups question and what they would do in that situation.

Here are some photos from our collaboration and sharing:
